A Personal Reflection on Digitized Education
Technology has grown to be the most important feature of human life. When it comes to digitized education, which involves integrating technology into traditional classrooms, this has completely changed the educational system because technology is now a part of everything we do in the classroom.
The global use of digital education has accelerated due to COVID-19. students were suffering significant academic losses as a result of lockdowns, which prompted them to begin educating students online. Although it was challenging at first, everyone eventually became adapted to it.
However, there is a significant, unchangeable difference between teaching in a physical setting and an online one.
I’d like to talk about how, as master’s students, we use technology. We complete all of our assignments using moodle, which is our student application for college. On moodle, we keep track of all of our academic and extracurricular activity records, so even when we have to give a quiz, we do so. In addition to classroom instruction, our college offers a platform called Ijaipuria where students can access recorded lectures by renowned academics or experienced individuals. This allows students to acquire additional knowledge outside of the classroom. When it came to assignments, students used to have to write their assignments by hand. However, these days, we prepare all of our reports digitally, and power point presentations have given way to canvas presentations, which look more professional.
As students, we have benefited greatly from the integration of technology and educational platforms. Not only can we learn and acquire new skills through the many online skill development programs offered by prestigious institutions, but it also provides us with a platform to interact with industry professionals and professors and gain knowledge from them. With the advent of digital education, students may now take advantage of additional chances and study at their own speed, from wherever that suits them.
When it comes to professors’ daily tasks, even teachers receive training on how to use technology for instruction and to carry out their daily tasks, which includes using applications to take examinations and record attendance.
Instructors now have the ability to instantly disseminate their expertise to every student with just a single click.
Professors are also being given the chance to pursue other research projects in addition to their professional duties. Additionally, individuals can get online workshops and trainings on how to effectively use technology and their talents.
There some advantages and as well as disadvantage of digital education.
Some Advantages:
- People’s learning experiences have been enhanced as they learn about a variety of subjects and expand their knowledge.
- Because people may take part in online seminars and workshops and strengthen their ties, it has enhanced collaboration and connectivity.
- Flexibility and accessibility are two main benefits of e-learning, since it gives students the freedom to learn whenever and wherever they choose, for as long as they have enough time.
- Additionally, personalized learning is improved because, even at our college, students’ opinions are solicited so they may determine how else to better our educational experience.
Some Disadvantages:
- A significant disadvantage of digital education is the loss of the human element. Reliance on technology should not increase because doing so will impair people’s ability to think critically.
- There is a significant danger to security and privacy since student or personal data may be compromised.
In conclusion, I have discovered that using digital education has been difficult and enlightening. It has made me realize how important it is to be adaptable, imaginative, and a critical thinker in an increasingly digital environment. I do not doubt that digitized education will continue to enable students to realize their full potential—both intellectually and personally—as we go through this ever-changing landscape.
